Family and friends of those tin am; in Milwaukee will gather Tuesday evening for a vigil and balloon release.
The family of 49-year-old Michelle D. Williams, who has been described by friends as kind and funny, has planned the memorial. Williams was among six people killed by gunfire.
She and the other victims, including her husband, Donta "Michael" Williams, 44, were discovered
Sunday afternoon after Milwaukee police were called to the duplex on North 21st Street near Wright Street for a welfare check.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Milwaukee police had released few details about the shooting. Police have said they are investigating all six deaths as homicides, but have not released any information about a possible motive or suspects. No arrests have been made, and police have not said when they believe the shooting occurred.
Soon after the discovery on Sunday, police oflficials stressed there was "no information to suggest that there is a threat to the community," indicating authorities believe these were targeted shootings. The other victims of the shooting are Charles L. Hardy, 42; Caleb A. Jordan, 23; Javoni Liddell, 31; and Donald Smith, 43.
Michelle and Donta Williams lived at the duplex, as did Smith, according to medical examiner's reports. Jordan was homeless and had been staying at the duplex, his mother told the Journal Sentinel on Tuesday.
Five victims were found soon after police arrived; Smith was discovered hours later as police continued their search of the residence, the medical examiner report says.
A cousin of Michelle Williams' told WIN (Channel
12) that their family had been told the shootings were "execution-style."
Neighbors said this week that gunfire is common in the area. In October, a shooting on that same corner killed 24-year-old Shermond Flowers and wounded a 37-year-old man. That homicide remains unsolved.
