Five people were shot in downtown Racine in what police said appeared to be a domestic-related incident.
According to the Racine Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots fired just before 2 a.m. Sunday near 7th Street and Park Avenue.
Police said officers encountered an armed man who then shot and killed himself as officers tried confronting him.
A spokesperson for Racine police said officers tried negotiating with the man before he shot himself.
His name was not released.
No officers fired their weapons, investigators said.
Three people were taken to the hospital.
Two additional victims arrived at hospitals in different cities.
One woman and four men were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Their names were not released.
No other details were immediately available.
